Description

The railings and wall located about 20 metres west of Chancery House in Ramsgate date back to the 18th century. They feature wrought iron rails set on a rendered brick base. The low base wall increases in depth as it slopes downwards and is topped with stone coping. The railings, which are approximately 30 yards long, include spear head rails with a dog-rail and are ramped towards a central gateway. This gateway is flanked by wrought iron arched piers and includes a simple gate with spear head uprights and a ramped rail. The railings are recessed and extend to the left for about 5 yards, where they return with simple uprights.
