Description
1 and 2 Queens Court are a pair of cottages dating from the late 17th century. They are constructed of flint, with some red brick, and feature a plain tile and pantile roof. The cottages stand two storeys high with an attic, set on a plinth with a moulded plat band. There is a single gabled dormer and a central stack. To the right, there is a pedimented Dutch gable, and to the left, a projecting two-storey porch with a garret and a segmental-shaped parapet. The windows are irregularly arranged, consisting of wooden casements in segmental surrounds, with one window in the porch and two on the upper floor of the main block. The porch has a half-glazed door with a glazing bar sash, and there is a leaded and shuttered casement to the right. A central doorway has been blocked. The gabled elevation features leaded casements with segmental heads on each floor, and the rear elevation also has a plinth, plat band, and gabled dormer. The cottages were restored in 1966 by Mrs. Grummant and the Ramsgate Society as a memorial to the Grummant family, a local building family.
