Description
The Perseverance Dining Room is a public house that has been converted into a café. It dates back to the 17th century and was altered in the mid-19th century. The building is rendered and features a slate roof. It stands two storeys tall with an attic, a parapet, a single flat-roofed dormer, and a stack on the left side. The first floor has a shallow bow with a vertical glazing bar sash window. The ground floor has plate glass with a panelled apron, pilasters, a fascia, and a cornice, along with a half-glazed panelled door to the right. There are earlier wings visible at the rear. Originally, from the 17th century, it was a beer house known as The Hovelling Boat Inn, which was popular among boat crews and fishermen.
