Description
47 and 49 Queen Street is a pair of houses with a shop, dating from the mid-18th century. The building is rendered and features a tiled roof. It has two storeys and an attic, with a half-hipped gambrel roof that includes a flat-roofed dormer and stacks at the rear. On the front, there is a sash window to the left and a glazing bar sash window to the right, along with a double shop front that has plate glass windows and glazed doors in the center and at the corner. There is a garret sash window on the left return. Iron sign posts are located to the right, and there is a bracketed sign to the left. At the rear, there is a two-storey extension that is hipped, weather boarded, and made of brick. The interior has been altered but retains some exposed principal beams, and the structure may originally have been framed. This building is included for its group value.
