Description

Kirkgate Cottage, located at No 14 on the Green in Westerham, is a 18th-century building that features a front facade on an older structure. It stands two storeys high with an attic and has two windows. The cottage has a high-pitched tiled roof that includes a hipped tiled dormer, eaves, and a bracketed gutter. The roof extends continuously over Nos 12 and 13. The front is finished in stucco, and the left section, which was once a shop, has a sash window with panelled former stall risers below. The entrance features a reproduction door with six fielded panels, a radial fanlight, and a pedimented hood supported by curved brackets over flat pilasters. Kirkgate Cottage is part of a group with Nos 9 to 14 and No 15, known as Church Gate House, which share walls and a yard.
