Description

10, The Green is a late 18th-century house of three storeys, originally with a single window front. The building stands within a group context with numbers 9 to 14 (consecutive) and 15 (Church Gate House), along with associated walls and a yard. The house has a hipped tiled roof with plain eaves and guttering. The second floor is of brick, while the lower levels are of rubble masonry, partially rendered and all now painted. The second floor contains a replaced sash window with glazing bars. The first floor features a sash window set beneath a shallow segmental arch. A C19 sash window bay with a lead roof is located on the ground floor. A modern door, fitted with a rectangular fanlight, is situated beneath a projecting, bracketed hood. The property’s structure suggests a building with a probable older structure behind the 18th-century facade.
