Description
Margavon Cottage and The Cottage are two adjoining houses located in Leigh Charcott, dating back to the 15th century. This Wealden house features two storeys and four bays, topped by a very large hipped tiled roof that has a ridge stack that has been partly rebuilt. The ground floor is constructed of red brick, decorated with a pattern of blue headers. The first floor has two end projections that are tile hung, with corner fillets that oversail and are supported on brackets. The central portion of the building is half-timbered, with plaster infilling. It has a recessed area with a central carved bracket that supports the oversailing eaves, which have a bracket gutter. The property includes various casement windows.
