Description
Forge House and Forge Cottage are located in Leigh Charcott and date from the 15th or early 16th century, likely originally serving as a hall. Forge House is a two-storey building with two windows and features a very large hipped tiled roof that extends forward to create a lean-to on the left side. It has a ridge stack and an early 19th-century tile-hung first floor, while the ground floor is made of red brick with blue headers. The windows are 19th-century one-bar casements, and there is a four-panel door.
Forge Cottage is a two-storey, one-window extension set back to the right of Forge House. It has a massive offset end chimney with a stone base, red brick dressings, and shafts.
