Description

Old Chimneys is a 16th-century house that stands two storeys high and features two windows. The building has been somewhat restored and boasts a very high pitched tiled roof with a large, compound ridge stack. Its exterior showcases close studded visible timber framing filled with plaster, supported by rubble and old brick foundations. The windows are leaded casements, and there is a studded plank door set beneath a carved Tudor arch. The roof slopes low at the back. Inside, the inglenook fireplace features a carved top beam with a flattened Tudor arch, and there are very heavy re-used chamfered beams throughout.
