Description

Upper Pryors is a 16th century or earlier timber-framed house that stands two storeys high and features four irregularly placed windows. The building has a high-pitched tiled roof topped with a tall compound ridge stack. The first floor displays exposed square framing with plaster filling, while the ground floor is made of brick from various periods. Most of the windows are small modern casements, many of which have diamond leaded panes. At the rear, there are two gabled wings, with the left wing likely dating from the 17th century but featuring a 19th century Gothic window. The right return of the ground floor shows exposed framing with brick filling, supported by a stone and brick foundation. Inside, the house reveals much exposed timber and an inglenook fireplace with stone jambs.
