Description
Glover's Hawes is a small hall building that dates from the 16th century or earlier, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is two storeys high and features three windows. The building has a high-pitched tiled roof and includes two 19th-century half-timbered and plastered gables, which are adorned with bargeboards and finials above the first-floor windows. The first floor is tile-hung, while the ground floor has brickwork of various ages beneath an exposed half rail. The windows are leaded iron casements, some of which are old. The left return and back of the building have old weatherboarding. At the rear, there is a gabled wing with a lean-to that shows exposed framing. The smoke bay at the end of this wing has a later stone and brick chimney built inside, which is now open below the first-floor beam. The roof structure includes a ridge purlin.
