Description
Number 2 High Street is a house dating from the 16th century. It is timber-framed with brick infilling and features a tiled roof along with an external chimney stack on the right side. The building has two storeys and one window. There is a projecting early 19th-century weatherboarded wing with a gable end and a tiled roof. The front includes a modern shop window and a panelled door, along with leaded casement windows set in box frames. To the right, there is a one-storey brick building with a double-span roof, which was formerly a cobbler's shop. This structure is probably from the late 18th century but has some older timber-framed elements behind it. It features a wide, square-paned shop window. The interior has not been inspected but is reported to have exposed framing and an inglenook. Number 4 High Street is not considered to be of special interest.
