Description

This is a 16th or early 17th century timber-framed building with later alterations, located on the north side of High Street in Cowden. It is continuous with the adjacent building at number 8. The building is two storeys high with an attic, and has two windows. A returned gable end is visible on the left. The roof is steeply pitched and tiled, featuring a left-end chimney. The upper parts of the building are weatherboarded, while the ground floor is red brick with some blue headers. The windows are 19th century casements, and those on the ground floor have ornamental glazing. A six-panel door is set under a bracketed, gabled hood. Numbers 6A, 6B, 8 and 10 form a cohesive group.
