Description
55, 55A and 57 Week Street is a timber-framed building that has been converted into two shops. It features a plastered front and a first floor that still partly overhangs, although it has undergone modern alterations. The building is three storeys high, topped with a tiled roof and a heavy wooden modillion eaves cornice. The first and second floors showcase three panels of pargetting, dated 1680, which include oval medallions, pilasters, swags, and floral vase motifs. There is a cornice between the first and second floors. Shop number 55 has one sash window on the second floor, which retains its glazing bars, while shop number 57 has a modern window on the second floor. The shopfronts have also been modernized. This building is part of a group that includes nos 53, 55, 55A, and 57.
