Description
Nos. 36 and 38 Earl Street are two late 18th century houses designed as a single structure. They are three storeys tall, constructed of brown brick with red brick detailing around the windows, quoins, and stringcourses above the ground and first floors. The hipped roof is tiled with lead ridges, and there is a wooden cornice with modillions at the eaves. The front features four sash windows with segmental heads and keystones, although the glazing bars are missing from the windows, and there is a central window space. The houses share a porch supported by engaged Doric columns, topped with a large pediment. The porch includes panelled reveals, rectangular fanlights, and a door with six fielded panels. There is a plinth and three stone steps leading up to the street.
