Description
Sorrento is a detached villa built in the mid-19th century. It features a stucco exterior and a slate roof, with a double-depth design and two storeys set on a stuccoed plinth. The building has a plat band and raised stuccoed quoins, with flat eaves soffits. The narrow central bay is slightly recessed, while the roofs of the two outer bays are hipped to the front, with the hips returning. The stuccoed gable end stacks project with eaves soffits and have corniced tops adorned with semi-circular motifs.
The front of the villa has a regular arrangement of three windows: each outer bay contains a six-pane sash window set in a moulded architrave with plain consoles at the cills, and the centre features a similar four-pane sash. Ground-floor windows have moulded consoled cornices and consoled iron balconies. The central entrance is a panelled door with a rectangular fanlight, located in an open stuccoed Doric porch that has a plain frieze and moulded cornice, topped with iron railings that form a balcony beneath the first-floor window. The interior has not been inspected.
