Description
Whitchurch is a detached villa built in the mid-19th century, featuring stucco with stucco detailing and a dry slate roof with moulded eaves cornice and stuccoed end stacks. The design shows Italianate influence and has a double-depth plan, likely with two rooms at the front. The villa is two storeys high with a two-bay front that includes rusticated quoins. The right-hand bay projects and has a modillioned triangular pediment. On the first floor, there are triple round-arched windows with original 8-pane hornless sashes. The ground floor features French windows on the left with a pilastered surround and a tripartite sash window on the right. The interior has not been inspected but is expected to be of interest. This villa is part of a notable group of villas in Mannamead that were developed after 1851.
