Description
Kingston Lodge is a detached villa built in the mid-19th century. It features a stucco exterior with stucco detailing and a dry slate hipped roof that has projecting eaves. The front left includes a pedimented wing, while there is another pediment on the right-hand return. The villa has stuccoed stacks with moulded cornices and a double-depth plan with entrances on the return walls.
The building is two storeys high with a 1:2-bay front. The ground floor has round-arched windows, including a canted bay window with a moulded cornice that connects to a string course on the projecting wing to the left. There are also sash windows, some of which have had their glazing bars removed, and 3-pane fanlights above French windows to the right. The first floor retains original 12-pane hornless sashes. Other elevations of the villa also display many original features.
The interior has not been inspected but is expected to be of interest. Kingston Lodge is part of a notable group of villas in Mannamead that were developed after 1851.
