Description
West Hill House is a detached villa built around 1830, featuring a stucco exterior and a slate hipped roof with wide eaves. The building has two storeys and a basement. The east front has a central recessed area with a rusticated ground floor and a first-floor canted bay window that opens onto a balcony. On either side of this bay window, there are slight projections, with a window in a recessed arch and a three-pane sash window above a blind window. At the basement level, there are three small sash windows with glazing bars.
On the left-hand return facing the street to the south, there is one window and a slight recess that includes a French window on the first floor leading to a shallow balcony with iron railings. Below this, there is a ground floor doorway flanked by paired pilasters that support a heavy entablature. Access to the door is via seven steps, with gate piers at the bottom. To the right of the doorway, there is a three-storey projection with two windows in moulded architraves, where the left-hand sashes are functional and the right-hand window is blind.
