Description
Cleve Villa is a villa built in the early to mid-19th century. It features a stucco exterior and a dry slate roof with projecting eaves and rendered end stacks. The building has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys high, showcasing a symmetrical three-bay front with a recessed central entrance bay.
A full-width, five-bay wooden trellised verandah adorns the front, supported by shaped fretted arches and topped with a hipped slate roof. The verandah includes a projecting central gable with a shaped barge board that leads to an enclosed central glazed porch, which has margin lights and a door also featuring margin glazing.
On the ground floor, the windows are casements with pointed arches, glazed spandrels, and lights that have intersecting heads and octagonal panes. The first floor has an original 16-pane hornless sash window on the left, a pointed-arched central window with a pair of casements that have glazing bars, and a 16-pane horned sash copy on the right. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
