Description
The Old Cottage is a house dating from the 15th century. It has a timber-framed structure, with the rear elevation featuring brick cladding in English bond on the ground floor and rendering on the first floor, topped with a plain tile roof. The building is two storeys high and sits on a plinth. The roof is hipped at both ends, with a gablet on the right end, resulting in a short ridge. There is a large brick chimney stack at the right end, which has a base in English bond and is now enclosed by a brick lean-to with a plain tile roof. On the first floor, there are two eaves dormers towards the right end, each containing small two-light casements. A 20th-century half-glazed door is located slightly off-centre to the left. The cottage may consist of three timber-framed bays and features a weatherboarded lean-to on the street elevation.
