Description

The gateway and garden wall of East Court, with an attached mounting block, date from the 16th century and 18th century respectively. The gateway is constructed of red brick and features a moulded four-centred arched architrave set within a square-headed frame, topped with a hood-mould. Above this, there is a plain shaped gable. The wall is made of flint on galletted stone, with a brick-coped plinth and a dentilled brick cornice, standing approximately 7 feet tall. It extends about 1½ yards to the left and around 12 yards to the right of the gateway. The mounting block, located to the right of the gate, is made of stone and includes three steps that run parallel to the wall.
