Description
This is a house dating from the 16th century with later additions. It's composed of three distinct blocks. The original 16th-century block is set back from and runs parallel to the road. It has a timber frame, with the ground floor partially rendered and partially tile-hung, and the first floor tile-hung. It is two storeys high, with a hipped roof to the right and a small projecting red brick stack at the right end. A three-light casement window is present at the right end of the first floor. A narrow, projecting, rendered bay with a flat roof extends from the ground floor. A small square block, also parallel to the rear elevation of the 16th-century block, probably has a timber frame and is partially rendered on the ground floor and weatherboarded and tile-hung on the first floor. This block has a taller first floor than the original section, with hipped roofs to the right and left, leaving a short ridge, and a brick stack at the right end. A 19th-century block is situated at a right angle to the road, projecting from the left side of the front elevation of the 16th-century block. This block is rendered brick on the ground floor and tile-hung on the first floor, with a hipped roof toward the road and a gault brick stack to the right. It features a single three-light first-floor casement window, and a 20th-century half-glazed door is located in the right side elevation.
