Description

This mid-19th century gas lamp is located at the corner near High Street in Seven Post Alley. It features fluted columns and palm capitals, with a pair of arms at the necking and a moulded base. The lamp is supported by four curved ogee braces. The lantern has a square plan, larger at the top than at the bottom, adorned with anthemion foliage at each corner of the sloping roof. It terminates in a bell-shaped vent topped with a scalloped cap and finial.
