Description

Nos 17 and 19 on High Street are a pair of mid-17th century houses made of whitened brick, topped with plain tiled roofs. They feature box sash windows, each with complete glazing bars arranged in 16 squares. The houses have three-panel moulded and panelled doors, with the upper two squares of the doors fitted with bottled glass. There are half brick segmental arches above the two doorways and one ground floor window. These houses, along with Nos 11 to 19 (odd) and Nos 2 to 12 (even) on Upper Strand Street, form a cohesive group.
