Description
Number 20 High Street is a house that incorporates elements of a 16th-century timber-framed building, although it has been extensively altered and refronted in the 18th century and later. A gable and the outline of a bressummer below the first floor remain from the original construction. The ground floor is now finished with cement, while the upper floors are faced with white brick. The windows are sash windows, retaining their original glazing bars, with a four-light bay window on the ground floor, a three-light window on the first floor, and a single window on the second floor. Numbers 20 to 34, even, form a group.
