Description

This mid-19th century gas lantern and column is located on Argyle Road, opposite No. 2. The structure features a cast iron octagonal fluted column topped with four ogee curved braces that support a square lantern. The lantern has a smaller base than its top and is topped with a sloping roof that ends in anthemion foliage at each of the four corners. It also includes two bell vents and a finial.
