Description

This is a mid-19th century gas lantern and column, situated at the junction with Kent Street. It comprises a cast iron, octagonal column topped by four ogee braces which support a square lantern. The lantern has a smaller base than its top. The sloping roof of the lantern terminates in anthemion foliage at each of the four corners, and there are two bell vents.
