Description

The Admiral Owen Public House is a 15th-century timber-framed building that was refronted in the 18th century. It retains the overhang of its first floor supported by a bressummer and a massive corner post with three brackets. The building has two storeys and features three windows facing High Street and three windows facing Strand Street, with a stuccoed front. The corner of the first floor is sliced off, with curved brackets supporting the corbelled eaves. The sash windows have most of their glazing bars intact. The Admiral Owen is part of a group that includes Nos 8 and 10, as well as Nos 3 to 15A odd, Three Kings Yard (Nos 1 to 5 consecutive), the Pump and Railings, Chapel Remains, and Nos 19 to 23 odd on Strand Street.
