Description

Three gas lamps, located approximately 80, 180, and 280 metres from New Street, date from the mid-19th century. Each lamp features fluted columns and palm capitals, with a pair of arms at the necking and a moulded base. The lamps are topped with a lantern supported by four curved ogee braces. The lantern has a square plan, larger at the top than at the bottom, and is adorned with anthemion foliage at each corner of the sloping roof. It terminates in a bell-shaped vent that has a scalloped cap and finial on top.
