Description
Forge House and Bookshop is a building that dates from the 17th century and has been adapted in the 20th century. It features a timber frame with painted brick infill and a plain tile roof. The building has a lobby entry plan and stands two storeys high on a brick plinth, topped with a hipped roof and a stack located to the centre left. It consists of three bays, with the right bay serving as the shop, which has been restored. The windows are arranged irregularly, with three leaded wooden casement windows on the first floor and one two-light casement and one four-light casement window on the ground floor. To the right, there is a 20th-century four-light mullioned shop window. The entrance features a 19th-century boarded door located to the centre left, which has a flat hood supported by brackets, alongside a 20th-century glazed corner shop door to the right.
