Description

Clifton Cottage is a house, formerly a house and shop, dating to the 16th and 18th centuries. The left-hand block features a cross wing with a jettied first floor, plastered timber framing, and a hipped roof facing the street. The right-hand block, built in the early 18th century, has a red brick ground floor, a tile-hung first floor, and a hipped roof with an end stack to the right. The fenestration is irregular, with three wooden casement windows on the first floor of the cross wing and a bay window on the ground floor. The right-hand block has three 20th-century glazing-bar sash windows to the ground floor. A 20th-century panelled door is located in the angle between the two wings.
