Description
17 Market Square is a shop and dwelling dating from the 17th century. It is timber framed with brick infill and features an old plain-tile roof. The building has a gable-fronted plan and stands two storeys plus an attic. The front elevation includes a three-light casement window at the first floor and a two-light window in the gable, both of which have been renewed. At the ground floor, there is a built-out shop front with a 20th-century bow window. To the left, there is an entrance to an alleyway, which has a turned wooden column set into the wall of the adjacent building, No. 18. The rear of the building has a slightly higher roof that runs parallel to the front. The interior has not been inspected.
