Description
The Ship is a house and shop that dates from the 17th to early 18th century and has been altered over time. It features a timber frame with whitewashed brick and render infill, topped with a thatched roof. There is a small 19th-century brick chimney on the right side and the base of an external 19th-century chimney on the front left. The building has one storey and a basement, with two bays. The left bay includes a three-light wooden casement window on the main floor and a boarded door leading to the basement. The right bay has a canted projection with barred sash windows on the main floor and a single barred wooden casement window below on the left. To the left, there is a 20th-century door and casement in a lean-to structure. At the rear of the lean-to, there is a narrow two-storey weatherboarded extension, also thatched, featuring two bays of irregular openings. The right gable of the original block has a small 20th-century lean-to porch that serves the shop.
