Description

The lychgate, built around 1882-1891, is constructed from flint with limestone dressings and features a steeply pitched tiled roof. It has moulded two-centred arches supported by pairs of slender attached shafts, with the shafts at the northwest corner adorned with carved foliage capitals. The inner sides of the lychgate have recessed panels that include stone sills and lintels, along with jambs that also feature paired shafts and cushion capitals. This structure is included for its group value.
