Description
This barn, located 15 meters northwest of Upper Farmhouse, dates back to the 17th century. It features a timber-frame construction that is weatherboarded and sits on a brick plinth, topped with an old plain tile roof. The barn has eight bays and forms the northern side of a courtyard. The left bay extends outward to create a store with a casement window, while the next bay includes a door with a fanlight above it. The third bay from each end has double doors, and opposite these are double doors set within hipped midstray porches. The roof is half-hipped and constructed with a queen post design, featuring posts on aisle base plates resting on brick walls, and aisle ties at the top of the walls. Curved braces support the aisle plate and ties. The entire barn is floored over at tie level and is partitioned inside with 19th-century stables.
