BUCKLAND HIGH ROAD (A10) (East side) Buckland Barn at Lower Farm (30m to SE of house)

Barn. C17. Timber frame now raised on blockwork plinth, weatherboarded with steep pitched roof now of corrugated sheeting. A tall 6-bay, single-aisled barn facing N with rear aisle (3 bays infilled) and gabled front porch to 3rd bay from W. Jowled posts with long slender curved braces to tie-beams and arcade plate. Aisle ties. Inclined Queen strut clasped-purlin roof formerly thatched. Strengthened by a lower purlin carried on bearers between principal and Queen strut.
