Description
THERFIELD BUCKLAND TL 33 SW 7/99 Hodenhoe Manor II House. C17, extended early C19 and early C20. Timber frame, weather- boarded. Extended in brick, all colourwashed. Slate roofs. All 2 storeys. Original house to right is 3 bays. Ground floor: plank and muntin door to right of centre, to left 3 light to right 2 light small pane flush frame casements. First floor similar 3,1 and 2 light windows. First floor weatherboarding is flared out over ground floor. To left and now incorporated in later block is an axial, originally external stack. Entrance in right end with exposed plates and purlins in steeply pitched roof. 2 light casements to rear. Early C19 block to left is taller and projects forward with a shallower pitch to roof. 2 bays. Entrance in right bay with C20 surround. C20 flush frame sashes with slightly cambered heads. Sprocket eaves. Left end stack. Some weatherboarding in right gable. Left end 1 storey weatherboarded early C20 addition with a first floor balcony. Sashes and an entrance to rear of C19 block. Partially moated site.
