Description
This is a barn located about 15 meters west of Mountain Farmhouse, dating from the 17th century. It is timber framed and weatherboarded, topped with a plain tile roof. The barn consists of three timber-framed bays and features a central midstrey. It has a rendered plinth and a half-hipped roof. The north side has full-height double doors, while there is a low entry on the south side and a lean-to on the south.
Inside, the barn has gunstock-jowled posts and a clasped purlin roof with diminishing principal rafters, although only four of the original windbraces remain. Vertical queen struts extend to the collars, and there are tension braces in all bays above the midrail. The north side is infilled with lath-and-daub, and there are two braces for the threshing floor.
