Description
This is a 17th-century barn located at Asheridge Farm, to the south-west of the farmhouse. The barn is timber framed, built on a brick plinth, and is weatherboarded with an old tiled roof. It features a double threshing barn design with two projecting gabled cart entries on the south side. Inside, there are seven bays supported by heavy posts and cambered tie beams, which have curved braces and principals that hold the lower purlins and collars for the upper purlins. The barn also includes curved windbraces. Attached to the east end is a small lean-to open shed, and there is a 19th-century brick stable range attached to the west end, both located on the north side.
