Description

The Pudding Farmhouse is a timber-frame structure with a core dating to the 16th century, significantly altered in the 18th and 20th centuries. The original three-bay 16th-century building was encased in brick and extended during the 18th century, with two further bays added to the right in the 20th century, alongside several wings to the rear. The front facade is one-and-a-half storeys and five bays wide. The left two bays are wider, featuring a 18th-century six-panel door within a doorcase of panelled pilasters and reeded brackets supporting a broken entablature with a frieze between the brackets and an open pediment. Each bay contains 20-pane segmental-headed sash windows, with 20th-century sashes in the three right bays. Above all but the right bay are 16-pane sashes set within a flat-roofed dormer. The roof is half-hipped and incorporates a large three-flue stack above the front door.
