Description

No. 30 West Street is a cottage with a store, dating from the late 16th century. It features a timber frame with crucks and has early 20th-century rear extensions. The exposed frame includes brick and plaster infill, set on a base of brickwork and stone rubble, with boarding on the store. The cottage has a hipped thatch roof, which is lowered on the west side, and includes one eyebrow dormer and one taller gabled dormer, with cylindrical flues on a square base. The north front elevation is one storey and attic, with two above four windows, all of which are casements. There is a boarded door in a plain frame, and the lowered west side, which is the store, projects slightly.
