Description
No. 22 Church Street is a cottage dating from the mid-17th century. It features a timber frame with plaster and roughcast rendering, topped with a long straw thatch roof. A red brick stack from the mid-17th century has two diagonally set shafts. The cottage has two storeys and an attic, with two small wooden casement windows on the first floor and two more on the ground floor, positioned on either side of the doorway that leads to a baffle entry. At the north end, there is a contemporary domestic wing that is also timber framed, rendered, and has a long straw half hipped roof. Additionally, there is a shop front and an adjacent doorway that date from around 1900.
