Description

No. 46 Abbey Street is a cottage that dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century and was renovated around 1938. It features a timber frame with plaster and has a thatched roof. The cottage has a rectangular red brick ridge stack located to the right of the center and a 20th-century brick plinth. It is two storeys high and follows a lobby entry plan. The entrance has a boarded door, with two 20th-century casement windows on the ground floor and three similar windows on the first floor. Inside, there are chamfered ceiling beams, one of which has been cut for a later inserted staircase, and shallow arched recesses in the brickwork of the hearth.
