Description

No. 23 West Street is a small house, part of a pair with The Lodge on High Street, dating from the late 18th century. The house features stucco walls with visible joint lines and has a hipped slate roof. The symmetrical south front elevation consists of two storeys and three windows, all of which are sashes set in reveals. The plain doorway has a four-panelled door topped by a fanlight. To the east side, there is a high brick wall built in Flemish Garden Wall bond that extends back, featuring a plain doorway leading to a rear yard. The wall follows a curving line and ends with a plain pilaster, mirroring a similar feature at The Lodge.
