Description

The Lodge is a small house dating from the early 19th century, situated at the entrance to the former driveway of Southwick Hall. It forms one of a pair with No. 23 West Street. The house has stucco walls with visible joint lines, and a hipped slate roof. The south front is symmetrical, featuring two storeys and two windows. The windows are sash windows set in reveals. The ground-floor windows are set within a curved wall that incorporates the central entrance. This entrance has a plain architrave and cornice, and a six-panelled door. A high, rendered wall is set back on the west side, with a plain doorway leading to a rear yard. The wall follows a curving line and terminates in a plain pilaster, mirroring a similar feature opposite No. 23.
