Description
Durnford Cottage is a mid-19th century building originally comprising three cottages, now converted into two. It features colourwashed rendered brick with brick quoins and a pantiled roof. The structure is symmetrical, with one and a half stories and three bays, including a central projected gabled bay and lean-tos at each end clad in weatherboard. The end bays have doors with segmental heads and three-light segmental head casements. The central bay contains a three-light segmental head casement with a two-light similar window above. All windows have chamfered brick openings. Above the end bays, there are gabled dormers with two-light casements. Each side of the central bay is flanked by a large chimney topped with three stacks and a cornice, featuring a lozenge-section stack with diamond stacks on either side. The building is included for its group value.
