Description

Down Cottage is a 18th-century cottage that consists of two builds. It is constructed of knapped flint with brick dressings and additions, topped with a thatched roof. The cottage is 1½ storeys high and has two main bays, with a small bay added to the left. In the center of the older part of the building, there is a planked door set in a segmental-headed solid frame. On either side of the door and in the added bay, there are two-light segmental head casements. Above the earlier windows, there is an eyebrow dormer featuring a two-light casement with triangular side lights. The roof is hipped and has a large central stack positioned above the door.
