Description

The Five Bells Public House dates to the 18th century, with alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is built of colourwashed brick, with an old plain roof. The main block is three bays wide and two storeys high, with a wing projecting to the rear on the left side, along with other additions to the rear and right end. The front door is centrally positioned under a fanlight, set within a doorcase featuring console brackets supporting a moulded flat hood. Flanking the door are three-light casement windows under segmental heads, with matching three-light casements above. The right-hand bay has a front door under a flat hood, with a two-light casement on each floor. The eaves are dentilled. A hipped roof tops the building, with a ridge stack situated above the right-hand door.
