Description
Anvil Cottage is a 18th-century cottage that was restored in the 20th century. It features a combination of flint and small-sized brick bands, topped with a thatched roof. The cottage is 1 and a half storeys high and has three bays, with a lower wide bay added to the right-hand side, possibly used as a forge. The front of the cottage includes a planked door with a baffle entry in the third bay from the left. On either side of the door, there are 20th-century five-light casements, and the left-hand bay has a two-light casement. All openings are original and have cambered heads. Above each bay, there are 20th-century two-light casements in eyebrow dormers. The roof is half-hipped, with the higher left-hand side ending in a multi-flue, small-sized brick stack, and there is also a stack at the right-hand end.
